SOFTBALL PLAYER

Senior Sara Goforth was 9-for-13 (.692) at the plate and scored a run in every game last week as No. 1-ranked California Baptist won 3-of-4 of its GSAC games on the road.  In the sweep at Concordia, she was 5-for-6 (.833) at the plate with 1 double, 2 RBI, 2 walks, and a stolen base.  In the split at
No. 2-ranked Point Loma Nazarene, Goforth was 4-for-7 (.571) at the plate with 3 runs, a walk, and 2 stolen bases.

Freshman ~ 5-4 ~ RHP ~ Murrieta, California
Freshman Katie Nagler tossed 7.1 innings of relief and picked up 2 wins against a pair of Top-10 NAIA-ranked teams last week, scattering 4 hits, with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts.  She did not allow an earned run. She entered Tuesday's game against then No. 8-ranked Vanguard in the top of the third with the score tied at 1-1. The first batter reached base but was picked off. From that point on she retired every batter she faced as the Sea Lions went on to a 4-1 win. On Saturday she took the circle in a 2-2 deadlock against No. 1 California Baptist in the third inning. Nagler limited the powerful Lancer lineup to just one unearned run on 3 hits in 3.1 innings, earning another win as Point Loma handed California Baptist its first loss in conference play, with a 7-3 score.

Sophomore ~ 6-4 ~ First Base ~ Westminster, California

Sophomore Brice Cutspec was 8-for-17 (.471) at the plate with 3 runs, 2 doubles, 1 home run, 9 RBIs, and 2 walks as No. 4-ranked Azusa Pacific won all 4 of its games last week.  In the games against The Master's, he hit a home run and had 4 RBI.  In the sweep at Concordia, Cutspec was 4-for-8 (.500) with 2 runs, 2 doubles, and 5 RBIs.

CHRIS SCHWINDEN ~ Fresno Pacific University
Senior ~ 6-3 ~ RHP ~ Visalia, California

Senior Chris Schwinden of Fresno Pacific recorded a 9-inning 2-hit shut out win over Vanguard last week.  He carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning.  Schwinden
allowed 2 walks and struck out 12 batters in the contest.
