    • Pitcher of the Week
      • Katie Cotta - Concordia
      • Sophomore - 5-6 - Pitcher - Stockton, Calif.
      • Katie Cotta threw her sixth career no-hitter with 12 strikeouts in a 8-0 five-inning win against Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.). The senior leads the nation in strikeouts (100), is third in strikeouts per game (16.98), sixth in wins (8), and tenth in ERA (.26). Cotta leads the GSAC in ERA and strikeouts by 24 strikeouts. Cotta was named NAIA Softball Pitcher of the Week.

      • Jennifer Lorenzi - Arizona Christian
      • Junior - 5-3 - Left Fielder - Scottsdale, Ariz.
      • Jennifer Lorenzi raised her season average to .408 with 14 hits in 26 at bats (.538) with 2 triples, 7 runs scored and 6 RBI in 8 games at the Tucson Invitational last week. The junior leftfielder recorded two 3-hit games and two 2-hit games, and also stole 3 bases in 3 attempts. She singled, her third hit of the game, and scored the game-tying run in the eighth inning of Arizona Christian's 5-4 extra-inning win over Aquinas (Mich.), and went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in a 21-2 victory over Trinity International (Ill.). Lorenzi went 2-for-4 with an RBI and 2 runs scored in a close 6-5 loss to Great Falls and was 1-for-3 with a stolen base and a run scored in a 6-2 loss to Park (Mo.). Lorenzi hit safely in all 8 games last week and has a current 10-game hitting streak and has also hit safely in 19 of 26 games for the Firestorm this season.

      • Sophomore - 5-6 - Pitcher - Stockton, Calif.
      • Katie Cotta has now thrown a Concordia school-record 3 straight no-hitters. She struck out 26 batters last week and only allowed 2 base runners in No. 5 Concordia's GSAC wins over Hope International and Vanguard. The senior pitcher is second in the nation in strikeouts (126), 10th in ERA (.210), and 11th in wins (10). Cotta leads the GSAC in ERA, strikeouts, and wins. She has now thrown a school-record 8 career no-hitters, with 4 this season. Cotta was named NAIA Softball Pitcher of the Week.

      • Junior - 5-8 - Second Base - Laguna Niguel, Calif.
      • Jenna Jorgenson hit 3 home runs on the week and drove in 10 runs, including 4 against Vanguard in one game, as No. 5-ranked Concordia won all 6 of its games last week. The junior second baseman was 8-for-18 (.444) at the plate, had 3 multi-hit games and tallied 5 extra-base hits.

      • Junior - 5-8 - Pitcher - Long Beach, Calif.
      • Liz Gonzalez pitched 26.2 innings last week as the Royals went 3-1. Gonzalez earned all three wins. Against Biola, she threw all 10 innings in the first game that saw the Royals make an extra innings comeback for the win. In game two against Biola, she threw 3.2 innings of relief. Gonzalez threw all 13 innings against Hamline (MN) for two wins including a game one shutout. On the week, Gonzalez produced 12 strikeouts and issued just 2 walks.

      • Freshman - 5-2 - Right Fielder - Pico Rivera, Calif.
      • Jasmin Dresser hit .750 with 9 hits in 12 at-bats, and reached base in 10 of her 12 at-bats on the week. The freshman right fielder scored 6 runs, had 4 doubles, and hit one home run. Dresser also collected 11 RBI. With 4 conference wins last week, the No. 1-ranked Eagles now have a 25-game winning streak.

      • Sophomore - 5-7 - Pitcher - San Diego, Calif.
      • Rachel Stalford earned 3 wins and a save as Vanguard won all four contests in which she pitched. The sophomore pitcher earned a save in her first outing of the week and allowed just one run in 19 innings of work while striking out 8 batters.

      • Junior - 5-8 - Second Base - Laguna Niguel, Calif.
      • Jenna Jorgenson recorded 12 hits, 5 doubles, 2 home runs, and 7 RBI as No. 1 Concordia won 5 of 6 games last week. The junior had 5 multi-hit games, scored 8 runs and stole a base. She is third in the NAIA in doubles (16), seventh in RBI (40), and 20th in home runs (8). Jorgenson is fourth in the GSAC in batting average (.405), fourth in hits (47), first in doubles, second in RBI, and first in home runs.

      • Courtney Young - Concordia
      • Senior - 5-8 - Pitcher - Palos Verdes, Calif.
      • Courtney Young blanked Hope International only allowing 2 hits and 2 total base runners. She lowered her season ERA to .330, which is second in the NAIA behind teammate Katie Cotta. The senior has a record of 11-1 and has only allowed 3 earned runs all season, which is third in the nation and first in the GSAC. Young has 40 strikeouts on the year.

      • Freshman - 5-2 - Right Fielder - Pico Rivera, Calif.
      • Freshman Jasmin Dresser went 5-for-6 (.833) at the plate last week with a home run and an RBI. She also stole a base and scored 3 runs in the double header against Hope International. Dresser is 14th in the NAIA in batting average (.492) and leads the GSAC.

      • Liz Gonzalez - Hope International
      • Junior - 5-8 - Pitcher - Long Beach, Calif.
      • Liz Gonzalez went 3-1 last week after throwing 33 innings in 5 games with a 1.48 ERA. The junior threw all 14 innings in a doubleheader sweep at Arizona Christian allowing just one unearned run. Gonzalez threw all 10 innings in the first game against La Sierra. Although she took the loss, only 3 of the 7 runs allowed were earned. On Saturday, Gonzalez was a one-woman wrecking crew against No. 2 Cal State San Marcos in the first game. Not only did she throw all 7 innings giving up just 2 runs to earn the win, she hit 2 home runs in back-to-back at bats to account for 3 of the 4 runs in the 4-2 win over CSU San Marcos.

      • Junior - 5-9 - Catcher - Long Beach, Calif.
      • Emily Craig started the week with a 3-for-3 day and had a hit in each game as NAIA top-ranked Concordia swept both of its doubleheaders at Vanguard and against Biola and remains undefeated in GSAC play. The junior catcher had a home run and a double, and drove in 6 runs. She is seventh in the GSAC in batting average (.378), fourth in RBI (37), eighth in doubles (8), and fourth in home runs (7).

      • Rachel Stalford - Vanguard
      • Sophomore - 5-7 - Pitcher - San Diego, Calif.
      • Rachel Stalford tossed a complete game shutout against Hope International and recorded 5 strikeouts on the week. The sophomore allowed only 3 hits in the 5-0 win over the Royals. She also held No. 3-ranked Cal State San Marcos to just 1 run in 6 innings of a 1-0 loss.
    • Player of the Week
      • Lauren Ackerson - Hope International
      • Junior - 5-5 - Third Base - Ontario, Calif.
      • Lauren Ackerson was 4-for-11 (.364) at the plate with 4 runs, a double, 2 home runs, 6 RBI and a stolen base as Hope International won two of its four conference games last week. Hope International completed two comeback wins to sweep Biola. In game one, the Royals were down 10-2 before winning 12-11. Ackerson drilled a 2-run home run to start the comeback, then in the bottom of the seventh she sent a 3-2 pitch over the center field fence for a walk-off 2-run home run. In game two, with the Royals down 6-5 in the sixth and 2 outs, Hope International mounted a second comeback. Ackerson walked with the bases loaded to account for the final score of the game in the 8-6 Royals win. The sweep gave Hope International the tie break over Biola to earn third place in the GSAC.

      • Senior - 5-6 - Pitcher - Stockton, Calif.
      • Katie Cotta threw 2 no-hitters, including a near perfect game with only one walk, to lead No. 1-ranked Concordia to its second-straight GSAC-Cal Pac Tournament Championship and the automatic bid to the NAIA National Softball Championship Opening Round. The senior pitcher currently has a total of 9 no-hitters for the season, surpassing the 2001 NAIA single-season record of 8 held by Rachel Murray of Union (TN). Cotta now has 13 career no-hitters, just 3 short of tying Murray's career mark of 16. For the week, she struck out 29 batters, with 13 against William Jessup and 16 against Simpson, one short of tying her single-game school record of 17. Cotta only allowed one base runner in the 3-0 championship game against Simpson, coming up a walk short of a perfect game. She leads the NAIA in ERA (.160), in strikeouts per game, and is third in earned runs allowed (3), and 10th in wins (20).

      • Caitrin Debaun, leadoff hitter for No. 1-ranked Concordia, was a scorching 7-for-9 (.778) at the plate in the 3 games of the GSAC-Cal Pac Tournament, which top-seeded Concordia won for the second-straight year. She scored 3 and drove in 3 runs. She is fifth in the GSAC with a .401 batting average and fifth in hits with 57.
