2016 VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

    • Attacker of the Week
      • Libby Dahlberg - Westmont
      • Sophomore - 6-3 - Middle Blocker - Sacramento, Calif.
      • Libby Dahlberg led Westmont in kills with 42 as the Warriors won all four matches last week, including three against NCAA Div. II teams, to remain undefeated this season. The sophomore middle blocker also tallied 27 blocks (8 solo), 13 digs and 3 aces. For the season, Dahlberg is hitting .389 with 108 kills. She leads the 11-0 Warriors in blocks with 13 solo blocks and 42 block assists.

      • Kami Troesh - Westmont
      • Senior - 5-6 - Libero - Newport Beach, Calif.
      • Kami Troesh leads the back line for the 11-0 Warriors. In four wins last week, the senior libero recorded 103 digs (6.06 d/g), and five aces. For the season she has 169 serve receptions (.959) and 220 digs (5.64 per set). She has also totaled 12 service aces and 28 assists.
    • Setter of the Week
      • Amy Buffham - Westmont
      • Sophomore - 5-8 - Setter - Saugus, Calif.
      • Working in a 6-2 offensive scheme, Amy Buffham helped lead the 11-0 Warriors to four more wins this week - three against NCAA Division II teams. The sophomore setter recorded 93 assists, 41 digs and four aces. For the season, Buffham has 228 assists (5.85 per set), 8 service aces and 63 digs.

      • Juanae Johnson - Vanguard
      • Junior - 6-2 - Outside Hitter - Santa Monica, Calif.
      • Vanguard rebounded from a rocky start to the season, going 2-0 last week in GSAC play. Junior outside hitter Juanae Johnson has been on fire totaling 47 kills and 7 block assists in the two matches.
    • Defender of the Week
      • Tess Van Grouw - Biola
      • Junior - 5-9 - Libero - Exeter, Calif.
      • Tess Van Grouw anchored Biola's fantastic back row throughout a grueling five-set win over Hope International and put up 50 digs in two matches last week. The junior libero's performance in serve-receive was especially impressive with just two receiving errors in 43 attempts.
    • Setter of the Week
      • Jessica Williams - William Jessup
      • Freshman - 5-8 - Setter - Chandler, Ariz.
      • Jessica Williams dished 100 assists over 3 matches last week for William Jessup. Williams posted a personal best and season high of 50 assists in the Warriors' road victory against Pacific Union. The freshman setter added 20 assists against GSAC-leading Westmont, and another 30 in a history-making win against The Master's University. Overall, Williams averaged 8.33 assists per set and added 24 digs, 9 kills and 4 aces.

      • Katie Landazuri - Hope International
      • Junior - 5-7 - Outside Hitter - Temecula, Calif.
      • Katie Landazuri led the Hope International offense with 41 kills last week to help the Royals to a pair of GSAC wins against William Jessup and Menlo in five sets each. The junior outside hitter posted a double-double against William Jessup with 23 kills and 12 digs in a come-from-behind win. Landazuri added another 18 kills against the Oaks to average 4.1 kills per set.
    • Defender of the Week
      • Shea Beeman - Hope International
      • Junior - 5-5 - Libero - Hurst, Texas
      • Shea Beeman added 48 digs against William Jessup and Menlo to help the Royals go 2-0 in GSAC play during the week. The junior libero led all players in each match in digs and tallied a career-best 30 digs in the match against Menlo. For the week, Beeman averaged 4.8 digs per set, dished out seven assists, and served up six aces.
    • Setter of the Week
      • Jessica Zieg - Hope International
      • Junior - 5-8 - Setter - Carlsbad, Calif.
      • Jessica Zieg dished 98 assists last week in a pair of GSAC wins for Hope International against William Jessup and Menlo. Zieg tallied two double-doubles with 56 assists and 13 digs against the Warriors and 42 assists with 13 digs against the Oaks. The junior setter averaged 49 and 13 for the week. Zieg also added four kills without an error, two blocks, and an ace to improve the Royals' record.
