KANSAS CITY, Mo. - John Gilbertson of The Master's (Calif.) has been named the NAIA National Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Gilbertson was selected based on his performance from Oct. 8 - 14 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent runner of the week selections.

This is the second national weekly award for Gilbertson in the last three weeks.

Gilbertson, a senior from Saugus, Calif., set two records en route to winning the Bronco Invitational on Oct. 13, hosted by NCAA Division I Santa Clara (Calif.). He finished the 8K route in 23:40 and in the process broke the school and course record at Baylands Park. This event was the second NCAA Division I race won by Gilbertson and his fourth overall this year.

Gilbertson defeated 156 runners from a wide range of schools, including NCAA Division I institutions such as Stanford and UCLA.
