LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Arizona Christian University's women's tennis team pulled off a 5-4 win over Biola University in a Golden State Athletic Conference meeting in La Mirada, Calif. on Friday.

With the win, ACU improves its record to 2-2 and 2-1 in the GSAC. Meanwhile, the Eagles drop to 0-4 on the season (0-2 GSAC).

"The ladies showed their heart and desire to win out on the courts today," said assistant coach Cady Maharaj. "We started with a strong passion filled showing in doubles. At 2 doubles Diaz and Anaya won 9-8 (8-6 in the tie break) after being down 7-2 in the set. In singles Lea Souvigne, Jessica Trink and Julia Anaya showed dominance with comfortable straight set wins. At the number 6 position Sarah Edwards got her first win of the season in straight sets clinching our team 5-4 victory. It was great to see and hear the energy out on the courts today from our ladies! They fought for every ball and gave nothing away. We are excited to see what this young team will achieve this year as they improve with every match."
