SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The NAIA Player of the Week, senior Preston Wynne (Wellpinit, Wash.), sank seven 3-point baskets on Tuesday evening as No. 9 Vanguard took down its seventh-straight Golden State Athletic Conference opponent, The Master's College, by the final score of 77-56.

The Lions (20-2, 7-0 GSAC) have won 15-straight and sit three games in front of No. 22 Concordia (17-6, 4-3 GSAC) and No. 18 Biola (14-9, 4-3 GSAC) in the GSAC standings.

Juniors Chris Gorman (Oceanside, Calif.) and Keith Mason (Carson, Calif.) scored 13 and 12, respectively, in the contest. Gorman notched a game-high 6 assists and 4 steals for The Pride, while Mason was perfect from the field (6-for-6) and amassed a team-best 9 rebounds in just 19 minutes of action.

Wynne finished with 23 points, 6 boards, 2 assists and 2 steals.

Vanguard led for all but 58 seconds of the game. The Lions held a 36-26 advantage at the break and went up by as many as 25 (73-48) in the final period.

The second half of league play begins Saturday at Biola (7:30pm). The Lions defeated the Eagles in The Pit 80-60 on January 18th. With a win on Saturday, Vanguard could become the first Vanguard men's basketball team in over a decade to collect more than 20 victories in a season. The 2005-06 and 2007-08 teams went 20-13 and 20-10, respectively.
