EL CAJON, Calif. – Playing in the first Golden State Athletic Conference game of his career, DeAngelo Jones (Cheney, Wash.) put on a show, scoring a contest-best 26 points in 37 minutes on the court. The junior guard sank all four of his attempts from behind the arc and shot 8-for-11 from the field as No. 20 Vanguard picked up its 14th win of the year.

San Diego Christian drops to 4-6 (0-1 GSAC) with the defeat. The Hawks, led by Kwaminique Brandon's 17 points, had five players score double-figures in the contest.

Freshman Zach Allmon (San Luis Obispo, Calif.) came off of the Lions' bench to post a 24-point, 10-rebound double-double. Allmon leads all Blue and Gold players with three double-doubles on the season.

Vanguard held a 41-28 edge at half-time. The Lions went down 4-0 early, but did not trail again after a made lay-up from Jones put the Pride out front 8-6 at the 15:56 mark.

Junior Chris Gorman's (Oceanside, Calif.) 14-point performance featured game-highs in assists (7) and steals (4).
