EL CAJON, Calif. -- Goals in the third and 80th minute were enough to seal the deal and the upset as San Diego Christian defeated No. 23 ranked Biola Eagles on Wednesday 2-0.

The Lady Hawks earned their first GSAC win of the season and move to 7-4-1 and 1-3-1 in GSAC play. Biola falls to to 7-4-1 and 1-3-1 in conference.

San Diego Christian goalkeeper Sandra Castro finished with the shutout collecting five saves. Briana Williams claimed two saves for Biola.

The Lady Hawks scored quickly into the match. San Diego Christian earned a free kick just outside of the 18-yard box. Chantel Louden lined up and hit the ball square off the crossbar. Vivian Oray was there for the rebound and was able to beat Williams for the early 1-0 lead for her second goal of the season.

The Lady Hawks outshot the Eagles 5-4 in the first half and tied overall, 8-8.

The Eagles had a great chance to find the equalizer. A header from Margaret Guadarrama in the 27th minute made Castro dive for the shot and kept the clean sheet alive.

Zoar Gonzales ended the scoring for the game with a breakaway goal in the 80th minute. The goal made it number three on the season for Gonzales.

This was the first game in which the Lady Hawks have defeated a ranked opponent since last year's 2-1 win against No. 20 The Master's College.
