Andrew Robles collected a pass from his older brother, Eder Robles, and scored the only goal of the game as San Diego Christian defeated No. 22-ranked Cal State San Marcos 1-0 Tuesday evening to hand the Cougars their first loss of the season.

Eder fought off San Marcos defenders and was able to pass it to Andrew who beat the Cougar's goalie Zach Sheppard for his second goal of the year. The goal came early in the second half after the two teams battled defensively to a scoreless tie in the first half.

Andrew took the first shot for San Diego Christian at the 14th minute but was saved by Sheppard. The Cougars looked to get on the board multiple times as they found the back of the net twice in the first half only to have the goals called back because of offsides calls. San Marcos outshot the Hawks in the first half 3-2, but San Diego Christian led 7-4 in the game.

Andrew Robles led the team with three shots, two on target. Victor Flores and Emmanuel Parada also had a shot on goal.

Cameron Riley finished with just one save in his third shutout of the season.

A total of eight yellows cards and three red cards were issued in the battle between the two teams.

San Diego Christian travels to the Silicon Valley area to play Menlo College on Friday and Pacific Union on Saturday in their first and only road trip this season.
