John Gilbertson, of The Master's College, passed his nearest competitor in the final 100 meters in an exciting finish to the 5,000 meter race to garner the national title.  He received an All-America honor for this event as well as for a third place finish in the 10,000 meter race the previous day.

Westmont Women's Relay Team

Several other GSAC athletes received All-America honors, which are given to the top eight finishers in each event, for their accomplishments at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championship in Marion, Indiana.  Athletes were also honored as Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes for maintaining a 3.50 cumulative grade point average in the classroom.  To see results and lists of GSAC honorees, use the links below:
