The No. 1 Concordia Eagles stayed perfect in the GSAC-Cal Pac Tournament hosted by Concordia on Friday, April 26, with an 8-0 win over the two-seed Simpson in six innings.

Brittani McGue started for Concordia and was tremendous, allowing three hits and no runs, with five strikeouts, to remain perfect at 10-0.  Jenna Jorgenson hit her 11th home run of the year, and joined Shainna Groom with a double.  Hannah Howell hit her sixth home run of the year.  Jorgenson was four-for-four on the day with four RBI.  Caitrin Debaun stayed hot with three hits and Groom added two.

Debaun singled to start the game and Jorgenson homered to center two batters later to make it 2-0 early.  Bryana Simpson led off the second with a bunt single and went to second on a throwing error.  After a walk, two runners advanced on a passed ball, and both scored on a Simpson error.  Howell hit a solo shot to left in the fourth to make it 5-0.  A walk and single by Debaun put two on in the sixth.  Another walk loaded the bases and Jorgenson singled into left field, driving in two runs, and a fielding error allowed the eighth mercy run to score.  The Eagles cranked out eight runs on 11 hits, and still left five runners on base, many in scoring position.

Concordia improved to 44-3, while Simpson dropped to 33-25.  Concordia awaits the winner of Simpson/Biola tomorrow in the championship game at 2 pm.  Watch the entire tournament at
