The No. 1 Concordia Eagles had to wait all day, but they finally got their chance and did not disappoint as they defeated William Jessup 11-0 in five innings on the first day of the GSAC-Cal Pac Tournament hosted by Concordia.

Concordia started Katie Cotta threw her seventh no-hitter of the year and 11th career, both school records.  She struck out 13 and hit two, as she improved to 19-2 in five innings of work.  Leadoff hitter Caitrin Debaun had three hits and two RBI.  Annette Merjano and Bryana Simpson each had doubles, and Concordia collected nine hits, and were helped by six William Jessup errors. 

Concordia scored seven in the first inning, as Debaun singled up the middle to lead off.  Jenna Jorgenson singled two batters later.  Shainna Groom drove in a run and reached on an error.  Emily Craig drove in a run and reached on an error.  Simpson doubled to left to score two more.  Another error let three more runs score and it was 7-0.

The Eagles tacked on four in the third, as Merjano doubled to left center to lead off.  Jasmin Dresser singled one home, and Debaun singled up the middle for another.  Two more runs scored on two more William Jessup errors. ​

Concordia improved to 43-2, while William Jessup dropped to 28-16.  The Eagles will await the winner of Simpson/Biola tomorrow at 4:15 pm at Eagles Field.  Watch the entire tournament at
