Tucson, AZ- Arizona Christian Women's Track and Field opened their 2017 Outdoor Season at the Willie Williams Classic hosted by the University of Arizona.  The Firestorm broke six school records in Roy Drachman Stadium on Friday and Saturday.

Freshman Courtney Sweat had a busy schedule as she appeared in four events- setting the best ACU mark of the day in all four.  Two of her efforts resulted in new Arizona Christian school records- 13.11 in the 100 meter race and pairing with fellow Freshman Kylie Neafus, Marisa Ortiz, and Lesha Turner to run 51.34 in the 4x100 relay.  She ran 27.61 in the 200 meter race and traveled exactly 30 feet in the triple jump.

Turner ran in three total events including the 4x100.  In the 100 meter hurdles, she posted a program best of 16.88.  She too broke the previous school record in the 100 meter race with a 13.23 time but settled for a personal best as Sweat was just faster.

Ortiz also ran a 13.48 in the 100 meter race while Neafus recorded 1:03.19 in the 400 meter race.

Freshman Meghan McDermott ran 18.25 in the 100 meter hurdles, went 29'9.25" in the triple jump, and participated in the high jump but was unable to clear a height.

Running in single events, Freshman Kiara White ran 31.30 in the 200 meter race while Freshman Olivia McDermitt ran a personal best 19:09.94 at the 5,000 meter distance. 

Junior Kinsey Pease established new school records with a 1:12.31 run in the 400 meter hurdles and 106'3" javelin throw.  Freshman Shyama Moss set a new school record when she cleared four feet nine inches.  Freshman Kianna Patterson rounded out the field effort with chucks of 30'9.25" in the shot put and 79'3" in the discus.
