COSTA MESA, Calif. - Vanguard will host three Pink Games this week in The Pit. The first pink game will take place on Tuesday, February 12th at 5:30pm versus Concordia. The Lions will wear pink jerseys during all three of their contests in support of the Play4Kay initiative. A donation bucket will be passed around during the games to raise money for the cause.

Since its inception in 2007, the Play 4Kay initiative has raised over $2 million to support women's cancer research. The Kay Yow Cancer Fund is the official charity of the initiative.

The Lions play at 7:30pm on Valentine's Day against Cal State San Marcos. The gate for the Thursday game will be donated to the Moore Benefit. Westmont's head basketball coach, Kirsten Moore, recently lost her husband to complications from surgery for Crohn's Disease. She was pregnant at the time of his passing and is raising their daughter and coaching full time.

"We all try and support and care for one another beyond competition in the GSAC," Coach Moore said. "I am really thankful Vanguard had the vision and desire to support me in this way and I want to say thank you."

Saturday's match-up is between Vanguard and Hope International (5:30pm). The game will serve as 2013 senior night and the 2008 National Championship team will return to be honored in a halftime ceremony.

Vanguard athletics and the women's basketball program thanks you in advance for your support of these great causes!
