Concordia defeated Columbia (Mo.) 3-1 (25-19, 20-25, 25-21, 25-19) to win its first NAIA Volleyball National Championship and complete the season undefeated with a school record 38 wins. This is the 42nd NAIA championship won by a GSAC team.
As a team Concordia tallied 57 kills, with a .271 hitting percentage for the match including .302 in the third set, 52 assists, 67 digs, 10 blocks and 6 aces. Jessica Israel recorded 17 kills with a .500 hitting percentage and Madison Ekis had 14 kills. Also contributing were Fei Gao with 9 kills and 15 digs, Reanna Schelhaas with 8 kills, Le Mi with 7 kills, Liz Younglove with 28 assists, and Kara Vincitorio with 19 digs. This was Concordia's fourth appearance in the finals, previously finishing as the runner-up in 2004, 2008 and 2011. "Nothing came easy tonight and this is one tough group," said Concordia's head coach Dan Fisher. "They really found a way when we were in tight situations this year and I couldn't be prouder. We always believed and they deserved this."
