Concordia and Biola hope to go head-to-head for the GSAC crown in 2014.
Men's Soccer - Sat, Aug. 16, 2014

The GSAC Men's Soccer season is set to begin.

Concordia, which is the two-time defending GSAC regular-season and tournament champion, is looking to three-peat in 2014.   The Eagles are led by Chris Gould, who was named both GSAC Men's and Women's Soccer Coaches of the Year in 2013.  The team returns All-GSAC defender Ray Estrada as well as players from the 2012 team, All-GSAC defender Julio Trejo and Edgar Orozco, who had eight goals and three assists that year.

Biola, which finished second in the GSAC and just missed qualifying for the national tournament, aims to continue its success and challenge for the GSAC title.  Inspite of losing their leading scorer of a year ago, the Eagles return more starters than they lose and bring in a large freshman class for second-year coach Todd Elkins.

San Diego Christian and Westmont, which finished just two and three points behind Biola in the standings, respectively, are also aiming for the top spot in the conference.  William Jessup is in its first season competing in the GSAC to make it nine teams vying for the conference title.

The 2014 season begins this weekend and conference play will take place from September 20 to November 1.  The GSAC tournament will consist of the top 6 teams and be played November 5, 8 and 15 followed by NAIA Opening Round games on November 22.  The NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Tournament is set for December 1-6 in Delray Beach, Florida.
