John Bertram of Westmont was named to the first team of the 2014 Capital One Academic All-American® Men's At-Large Team in the College Division. In addition to tennis, the at-large division includes athletes from swimming, wrestling, golf and volleyball.


Only 10 individuals nationwide are selected for this prestigious and highly competitive award that is administered by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Bertram was chosen for his success both on the tennis court and in the classroom. On the court, he was 13-8 in singles play and 16-3 in doubles. The senior from Melbourne, Australia, is a chemical physics major with a 3.89 GPA.
