The No. 1 Concordia Eagles won their 11th straight game on Friday afternoon, April 25, with a 5-0 win over San Diego Christian in the 2014 GSAC Tournament hosted by Concordia at Eagles Field.

Stevie Goldstein was outstanding on the mound, allowing just three hits and walking one, while depending on her defense and improving to 18-1 with her eighth shutout.  The Eagles knocked 11 hits, led by a home run by Megan Feuerstein, her fifth of the year, and doubles from Hannah Howell and Caitrin Debaun.  Howell led with two hits and two RBI, and Chanele Dresser picked up two hits.  The Eagles were effective, stranding only five.

Debaun doubled to open the first frame, and after Annette Merjano walked, Howell doubled both runners home for a 2-0 lead.  Megan Feuerstein followed with a full count two-run shot over the left field fence.  Goldstein stranded a hit in the second and Chanele Dresser singled with one out in the second.  She went to second on a wild pitch, but was picked off.  Emily Craig singled to start the third and pinch-runner Kati Turner stole second, went to third on a groundout, and scored on Hattie Marshall's single.  Goldstein left a runner on second in the fourth.  Rachel Prentice and Dresser hit back-to-back singles to start the fourth.  After a strikeout, Jorgenson singled to center, but a ground ball double play from second to first ended the inning.  Goldstein stranded a leadoff walk in the sixth and Kristen Shiotani singled in the sixth, but a walk and double play doused the threat.  An error briefly extended the seventh, but Jorgenson fielded a ball at shortstop, stepped on the bag, and threw to first for the game-ending double play.

Concordia improved to 47-5, and awaits the winner of San Diego Christian and Biola in the GSAC Championship tomorrow at 2:00 pm.  Whoever it is, must beat the Eagles twice.  All games can be seen at
