SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – For the second time in athletic department history, The Master's College will be a host site for the sixth annual NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round.

Along with the honor of hosting the tournament, the Mustangs will receive an automatic postseason berth.

The tournament will be played May 12-15 and will feature nine five-team double-elimination tournaments.

The Opening Round site selection process took into account geography, facilities, student-athlete experience, and host qualification.

Joining The Master's College as second-time hosts are Belhaven (Miss.), the Crossroads League, Faulkner (Ala.), and Tabor (Kan.).

On top of hosting the Opening Round in 2013, the Mustangs put together the finest season in program history, highlighted by the most wins in team annals (44-17), the highest Top 25 ranking ever (No. 5), the rare double of winning both the GSAC regular-season and tournament championships, qualifying for the NAIA World Series for the second time in school history, and raking in countless postseason honors.

"We are extremely thrilled!" commented Mustang baseball head coach Monte Brooks. "I'm very grateful for the Lord extending grace on our program to experience another tremendous year. I have a lot of gratitude to the players and their commitment to grind out the season. It's been a team effort as we have had a lot of injuries. But through it all, nearly every player has contributed."

The 45 qualifiers and brackets for the National Championship Opening Round will be announced on May 9

"I want to thank the NAIA for considering us as a quality host site," said Brooks. "We are ready for the opportunity to host these teams."
