Vanguard came from behind to defeat Westmont, 5-3, and win the GSAC Women's Tennis Tournament Championship at Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

Westmont led 2-1 after doubles and extended the lead to 3-1 after Lauren Stratman won in the top slot against Vanguard's Juliet LaBarthe.  The Lions, however, won at the four and six singles spots to tie the match.  From there Vanguard's No. 2 Sophie Angner and No. 5 Michaele Sullivan won to clinch the victory for the Lions.

Vanguard earns the GSAC's automatic bid to the NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship, which will be played at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Alabama, May 13-17.  Other GSAC teams await at-large berths, which will be announced May 6.
