LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Senior David Cline scored a game-high 27 points and added 10 rebounds for his second double-double in the last three games to lead Biola to a 76-68 win over San Diego Christian in a GSAC game on Tuesday night at Chase Gymnasium.

The Eagles snap a two-game losing streak and improve to 13-12 on the season and to 3-6 in GSAC play while dropping the Hawks to 6-12 overall and to 3-6 in the conference.

Cline was 11-of-18 from the field and a perfect 5-of-5 from the free throw line. He added a pair of blocks and a steal while pulling down 10 rebounds. Jeremy Pope added 13 points while Mike Kurtz scored 12.

Biola got off to an awful start, falling behind 18-5 over the first five minutes of the game. Still trailing by 13 three minutes later, Biola went on a 13-point run to tie the game at 23-23 on a fast break layup by Cody Wittick with 9:26 to go in the half.

Back-to-back three-pointers by Pope gave Biola its first lead of the game at 3-433 with 5:33 left, but a six-point run by the Hawks to close out the half gave the visitors a 42-37 lead at halftime.

The second half was close with neither team able to pull away from the other. Biola trailed by two at 62-60 with 7:34 to go in the game, but went on a six-point run capped by a dunk from Kurtz to take a 66-62 lead with 4:38 to go.

Clinging to a two-point lead with just over a minute to play, Cline hit a tough jumper as he was fouled, making the free throw to make it a five-point game at 71-66. The Eagles would convert free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.

Biola held a decided edge in second-chance points, scoring 19 off 12 offensive rebounds. The Eagles also shot 50 percent in the game including 53.8 percent in the second half.
