Sophomore ~ Catcher ~ San Jose, California
Shawna Paxton was 10-for-15 (.667) at the plate with 2 home runs, 8 RBI and 3 runs while playing in 6 of Azusa Pacific's 7 wins last week.   She had a 1-out RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift the Cougars to a 4-3 win over Dominican.  She hit 2 home runs in the victory over St. Mary's MN.  In the win against Babson MA, she was 4-for-5 at the plate with 4 RBI.  Azusa Pacific has now won a season-high 8 straight games.  Paxton was named the NAIA Region II Softball Player of the Week.
 
SOFTBALL PITCHER
CANDICE THOMAS ~ California Baptist University
Freshman ~ RHP ~ Barstow, California
Candice Thomas gave up only 5 runs and no earned runs or walks while striking out 11 batters in 10 innings of work. In California Baptist's sweep of then-first place Vanguard, Thomas earned the save in the first game and pitched a complete-game victory in the second.  She entered the game with a 2-1 lead and a runner on base in the sixth inning and got the last 6 outs for her second save of the season.  She started and went the distance in the Lancers' extra-inning second-game victory, striking out a season-high 10.  Thomas was selected as the NAIA Region II Softball Pitcher of the Week.

AUDRA RATAJCZAK ~ Concordia University
Sophomore ~ Short Stop ~ Anaheim, California
Audra Ratajczak was 8-for-15 (.533) at the plate with 7 runs, 1 home run, 8 RBI and 3 stolen bases as Concordia won all 6 of its games last week, including a sweep of No. 6-ranked Azusa Pacific.  In the doubleheader against Friends KS, Ratajczak was 5-for-7 with 2 runs and 3 RBI.  In the first game against Hope International, she hit an inside-the-park grand slam and finished with 5 RBI.  Ratajczak was named the NAIA Region II Softball Player of the Week.

NATALIE BROWN ~ Concordia University
Freshman ~ RHP ~ Visalia, California
Natalie Brown earned 2 wins last week in 12 innings of work giving up only 1 earned run, 4 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 11 batters. In the win at No. 6 Azusa Pacific, she gave up only 1 earned run and 1 walk and struck out 6.  In the win Hope International, Brown pitched her second no-hitter of the season, striking out 5.  Brown was selected as the NAIA Region II Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Junior ~ Utility ~ Norco, California
Anne Marie Miller was 6-for-17 (.353) at the plate with 2 doubles, a home run, 4 runs and 4 RBI as California Baptist won 5-of-6 games last week and is in first place in the GSAC.  In the win against Eastern Connecticut in the Sun West Tournament, she hit a double and scored a run.  In the sweep of Biola, Miller had the game-winning RBI in both games.  She had a sixth-inning sacrifice fly that gave California Baptist the last run of the game in a 2-1 win in the first contest.  Miller hit a double and a 3-run homer in the second victory.  Miller was selected as the NAIA Region II Softball Player of the Week.

Freshman ~ RHP ~ Visalia, California
Natalie Brown earned 3 wins and did not allow an earned run in 16.2 innings of work last week.  She gave up 3 hits and 5 walks while striking out 17 batters.  In the win against California Baptist, she pitched a 2-hitter and struck out 7.  In a complete game win against Claremont-Scripps, Miller allowed only 1 hit and struck out 8 batters.  Brown was chosen as the NAIA Region II Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Loraine Pinedo batted a team-high .558 (10-for-17) with 6 runs, 3 doubles, 5 RBI and 2 stolen bases last week as No. 8-ranked California Baptist went a perfect 5-0 in conference play.  In the double-header sweep of No. 11-ranked Azusa Pacific, Pinedo was 3-for-6 with 2 RBI.  In 3 games against Hope International, she went 7-for-11 (.636) with 2 doubles and 3 RBI. Pinedo has tallied 9 double and 11 RBI so far this season.  Pinedo was named the NAIA Region II Softball Player of the Week.

KELLY KALISH ~ Point Loma Nazarene University
Sophomore ~ RHP ~ La Caņada, California
Kelly Kalish earned 3 complete-game wins to extend her winning streak to 8 straight and also picked up a save in 4 outings last week.  For the week, Kalish had a perfect 0.00 ERA allowing only 1 walk while striking out 22 batters.  In the shutout at No. 20-ranked Concordia, she struck out 4 and did not allow a walk.  In the win against No. 11 Azusa Pacific, Kalish fanned 9.  In 9 innings of work in the doubleheader against Biola, she struck out 9 while earning her third win and a save, respectively.   Kalish was chosen as the NAIA Region II Softball Pitcher of the Week.

NICOLE RUDOLPH ~ Biola University

~ Catcher ~ Chico, California
Nicole Rudolph was 2-for-5 (.400) at the plate with 1 double, 1 grand slam homerun and 6 RBI as Biola swept No. 15-ranked Concordia last week.  In the first game, she hit a double and recorded 2 RBI.  In the second game, Rudolph hit a game-winning grand slam when Biola was down 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning.  It was her first home run of the season.  Rudolph was named the NAIA Region II Softball Player of the Week.


SOFTBALL PITCHER
JENNIFER RYNDA ~ Vanguard University
Freshman ~ RHP ~ Moreno Valley, California
Jennifer Rynda tossed a 3-hit shutout against No. 8-ranked California Baptist, giving Vanguard a 1-0 win and a split of the GSAC doubleheader.  Rynda struck out 2 batters and did not allow a walk in the complete-game outing.  Rynda was selected as the NAIA Region II Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Alexis Powell was 9-for-15 (.600) at the plate with a pair of home runs, 3 runs and 7 RBI as No. 13-ranked Point Loma Nazarene won all 4 of its games on the road last week.  In the sweep at Azusa Pacific, she hit 1 home run, scored 2 runs and recorded 3 RBI.  In the 2 wins at Hope International, she was 6-for-8 (.750) at the plate with another home run and 4 RBI.  Powell was selected as the NAIA Region II Softball Player of the Week.

Senior ~ RHP ~ Corona, California
Lisa Spencer earned a pair of complete-game wins without allowing a run as California Baptist swept 3 doubleheaders with Cal-Pac teams on the road last week.  She gave up only 5 hits and 5 walks while striking out 10 in her 2 starts against Dominican and Bethany.  Spencer is 7-2 this season with 0.59 ERA in 59.2 innings.  Spencer was chosen as the NAIA Region II Softball Pitcher of the Week.

~ Shortstop ~ Anaheim, California
Audra Ratajczak was 15-for-24 (.625) at the plate with 2 doubles, 6 RBI, 9 runs and 4 stolen bases as Concordia went 6-2 for the week.  In the sweep of Hope International, she was 4-for-7 with 3 runs, 2 RBI and 3 stolen bases.  In the sweep of Azusa Pacific, Ratajczak was 4-for-5 with 3 runs and 2 RBI. In the split with No. 9-ranked NCAA Division III Chapman, she was 5-for-6 with 2 doubles, 2 runs and 2 RBI.  Ratajczak has broken single-season school records in runs scored (41), stolen bases (23) and multiple-hit games (23) Ratajczak was chosen as the NAIA Region II Softball Player of the Week.


SOFTBALL PITCHER
AMANDA XAVIER ~ California Baptist University
Junior ~ RHP ~ Modesto, California
Amanda Xavier earned 2 wins and didn't allow a run in her 3 starts as No. 6-ranked California Baptist went 4-2 for the week.  In 16 innings of work, she gave up 10 hits and 4 walks while striking out 8 batters.  Xavier kept No. 13-ranked Point Loma Nazarene scoreless for 7 innings, but got a no-decision as the Lancers won in 9 innings.  She started a non-conference game against Bethany and completed the first 3 innings of a 5-inning game without allowing a hit, while walking 2 and striking out 4.  Xavier was the winning pitcher in the first-game win over No. 19-ranked Concordia, as California Baptist clinched a share of its first GSAC Championship since 1992, going 6 innings and striking out 3 while giving up 4 hits and 1 walk.  Xavier was named the NAIA Region II Softball Pitcher of the Week.
