Freshman ~ 6-1 ~ Forward ~ Chandler, Arizona
Ryan Hopkins recorded 8 saves and 2 shutouts last week to set a school record with 12 career shutouts.  Against Cal Poly Pomona, he made a save on a penalty kick with 8 minutes to play to preserve the shutout.  In the win at Concordia OR, he recorded 3 saves. Hopkins was named the NAIA Region II Men's Soccer Player of the Week.

MICHAEL THOMPSON ~ Westmont College
Sophomore ~ 5-10 ~ Midfielder ~ Newbury Park, California
Michael Thompson scored the game-winning goal in each of Westmont's 2 wins at the Cougar Classic hosted by Azusa Pacific last week.  He snapped a 1-1 tie with Pacific Lutheran with an unassisted goal from 20 yards.  With less than 4 minutes to play against Concordia OR, Thompson scored the only goal of the game. Thompson was chosen as the NAIA Region II Men's Soccer Player of the Week.

Junior ~ 5-10 ~ Midfielder ~ Santa Ana, California
Ismael Cervantes recorded 1 goal and 3 assists as Concordia won both of its games last week.  In a non-conference match-up with Point Loma Nazarene, he assisted on the game-tying goal.  In the win against Alliant International, Cervantes had 2 assists, including an assist on the game-tying goal, and then scored the game-winning goal.

MATTHEW HESS ~ Vanguard University
Senior ~ 6-3 ~ Forward ~ Fullerton, California
Senior forward Matthew Hess scored 6 goals out of  Vanguard's 18 goals in 2 wins last week.  In the win against Chapman, he scored 2 goals.  In the victory over Alliant International, Hess scored 4 goals.  He now has 11 goals for the season.

Junior ~ 5-11 ~ Forward ~ Chernivtsi, Ukraine
Junior forward Andriy Budnyy factored in all 5 of No. 5-ranked Azusa Pacific's goals in 2 important conference wins last week.  In the 3-0 shutout of No. 2 ranked Fresno Pacific, he scored 2 goals and assisted on another.  In the overtime win at Concordia, Budnyy recorded a goal and then assisted on the game-winning goal with 2 minutes left in the first overtime. Budnyy was selected as the NAIA Men's Soccer Player of the Week.

Junior ~ 6-1 ~ Goalkeeper ~ Ontario, Canada
Junior goalkeeper Tommaso Bianchi notched his fifth and sixth shutouts of the season as the Vanguard Lions blanked both of its GSAC opponents last week.  For the week, Bianchi recorded 10 saves in 2 complete games.  He had 4 saves at Point Loma Nazarene and 6 against Hope International. The Lions are currently tied for first place in the conference and have a 7-game winning streak.

ANDRIY BUDNYY ~ Azusa Pacific University
Junior ~ 5-11 ~ Forward ~ Chernivtsi, Ukraine
Junior forward Andriy Budnyy scored 4 of his team's 5 goals as No. 3-ranked Azusa Pacific won both of its matches last week and moved into sole possession of first place in the GSAC.  He scored both goals at California Baptist, including the game-winning penalty kick in the 106th minute.  In the match against Vanguard, which was undefeated in GSAC play and tied with Azusa Pacific for first place, Budnyy also scored 2 goals in a 12-minute span over both halves, including another game-winner in the 53rd minute.  Budnyy was selected as the NAIA Region II Men's Soccer Player of the Week.

NATHAN KRAMER ~ Vanguard University
Senior ~ 6-2 ~ Forward ~ Hacienda Heights, California
Senior forward Nathan Kramer scored 3 goals and had an assist as Vanguard won both of its GSAC games last week to remain in second place in the conference.  He scored the game-winning goal in the 1-0 win at California Baptist.  In the 5-2 victory over No. 6-ranked Fresno Pacific, Kramer tallied 2 goals and an assist.  Kramer is Vanguard's second-leading scorer this season with 10 goals and 7 assists.  With 13 wins this year, the Lions have tied the school record for wins in a season.  Nathan Kramer was chosen as the NAIA Region II Men's Soccer Player of the Week.
